ABOUT THE CINEMART

The Cinemart is a full-service production company based in New York City. Since 2011, it has produced some of the most acclaimed documentaries of the past decade. Grounded in traditional filmmaking, the team focuses on urgent human stories and social issues through award-winning projects.

Partnerships with figures like Shawn “JAY Z” Carter have amplified that mission, leading to influential work like TIME: THE KALIEF BROWDER STORY, a call for criminal justice reform, and REST IN POWER: THE TRAYVON MARTIN STORY, which explored the roots of a movement. Both received Emmy nominations, and TIME earned a Peabody Award.

In 2019, The Cinemart partnered with Hulu on FYRE FRAUD, an exposé of influencer culture and a failed Bahamas music festival. The film was nominated for an Emmy for Best Writing in a Documentary. The following year, Netflix released THE PHARMACIST, which followed one man’s pursuit of justice and his fight against the opioid crisis. In 2021, The Cinemart produced LULARICH for Amazon Studios, a satirical look at multi-level marketing and gender roles that became a breakout hit.

By 2025, The Cinemart had four #1 global TV shows, including Netflix’s MURDAUGH MURDERS: A SOUTHERN SCANDAL, Amazon's SHINY HAPPY PEOPLE: DUGGAR FAMILY SECRETS and Netflix’s AMERICAN MURDER: GABBY PETITO.

The Cinemart pushes storytelling forward while staying rooted in bold, socially conscious filmmaking. With every project, The Cinemart has drawn massive audiences not by chasing trends, but by holding a steady line between art and accountability—proving that conscious filmmaking and popular storytelling don’t coexist but elevate each other.
